| Description: | Die Casting is the most economical
application for the processing of non-ferrous metal-alloys. During die
casting liquid non-ferrous metal-alloys will be pressed into a form. After
cooling down of the parts it is important to remove these pieces from the
form easily. This is the reason for spraying the form with releasing emulsions.
After removing the parts must be cleaned from surplus emulsions. For this
step a water based repellent is used. These process liquid must be changed
due to ageing or contamination. As emulsions have a water content of 95
- 99 %. Vacuum distillation is one of the most economical alternatives
to the disposal of casting emulsions. The distillate can be reused for
new releasing emulsions or for rinsing of parts. The residue is depending
on its oil concentration, good for incineration or for disposal in the
previous way. When planning the unit the impurity grade of the emulsion has to be tested to see if the VACUDEST® unit can be made more profitable by adding a skimmer for the separation of free oils and/or a belt filter for the filtering of oiled particles. If a high distillate quality is required, a membrane filtration or active carbon filter can be added for the further reduction of the residual oil content. |

| Practical experience: | Water recycling
and the reduction of fresh water consumption is made equally possible
by the treatment of used emulsions. The VACUDEST® system enables
the waste disposal costs to be significantly reduced and the distillate
can be reused, in contrast to conventional treatment technology (e.g.
separation units). |
