| Application: | Used cooling lubricants |
||
| Ingredients: | Mineral or synthetic oil, emulsifiers, stabilisers,
anti-foaming substances, additive |
||
| Description: | Cooling lubricants, as well
as drilling and cutting emulsions have to be exchanged due to aging or
high impurities. As emulsions have a water content of 90 - 97%, the vacuum
distillation is an economic alternative for treating the used emulsion.
The resultant distillate can be reused to mix new emulsion. The highly
concentrated residue can, depending on the oil content, be burnt or disposed
of in the previous way. When planning the unit the impurity grade of
the emulsion is to be tested to see if the VACUDEST® unit can be
made more profitable by adding a skimmer for the separation of free oils
and/or a belt filter for the filtering of oiled particles. If a high
distillate quality is required, a membrane filtration or active carbon
can be added for the further reduction of the residual hydrocarbon content. |

| Practical experience: | Water recycling and the reduction
of fresh water consumption is made equally possible by the treatment
of used emulsions. The VACUDEST® vacuum distillation system enables
the waste disposal costs to be significantly reduced and the distillate
can be reused, in contrast to conventional treatment technology (e.g.
separation units). |
