PSA Peugeot Citroen opts for vacuum distiller VACUDEST® in their new state of the art <MCP> engine production line.

PSA Peugeot Citroen has two production sites in Europe for their engines, both of which are situated in France: Metz and Valenciennes. The latter which was set up in 1980 has been producing more than 25 million engines (one engine is being produced each ten seconds). The new state of the art “MCP” engine production line adds on to the existing site and stretches over 42.000 m2. It has an annual production capacity of 800.000 units.
Wanting to respect the environment, it has been decided to equip the Valenciennes site with a new water treatment unit that entirely recycles the process waters generated by engine production. Coming from applications such as parts cleaning, these waters are no longer inserted into the canalisation but are being reused after treatment in the industrial cleaning process.
The water treatment system consists of a vacuum distillation unit VACUDEST® 1200. This environment-friendly installation treats volumes up to 6000 m3 per year. Pre-treatment is provided by only a few components, such as a three-phase-separator, which separates particles, sludge and surface oils. Post-treatment is being undertaken by ActiveDest®.
