IFAT: H2O presents the new VACUDEST® ClearCat® series
On the IFAT H2O presents its new VACUDEST® ClearCat® series. During development of this innovative vacuum distillation plant series for the treatment of oil containing waste water and emulsions H2O was strictly focused on distillate quality. Compared to conventional evaporators the COD in the distillate is reduced by more than 60 %. Carbohydrates and free oils are also separated reliably. A field test in the metal processing industry resulted in less than 10 mg / l carbohydrates in all of the examined samples. Comparing these results with the actual legal limits in Europe for the disposal into the public sewer (10 – 20 mg / l) and with the distillate of conventional evaporators containing at least 50 mg carbohydrates / l one can see that the ClearCat®-technology stands for a quantum leap in terms of distillate quality. Thus no post treatment of the distillate by means of coalescence separation, active carbon or membrane filtration is required, no matter whether the distillate is recycled or disposed off into the public sewer. Less process steps result in lower investment, less maintenance and repair cost and less consumables, thus feasibility of the overall process is improved strongly. In addition the new VACUDEST® ClearCat® consumes less electricity. Due to hydrodynamic improvements of the ActivePowerClean heat exchanger the new VACUDEST® ClearCat® series consumes, depending on machine sizes, only 45 Wh/l.
During the development process every component, even the smallest ones, has been checked regarding functioning and positioning in the plant. More than 20 years of practical experience in engineering, building and running of industrial size evaporation plants were an excellent basis for the development of the new VACUDEST® ClearCat® series. Thus the plants show important improvements regarding ease of maintenance and repair. VACUDEST®-evaporators are applicable for the treatment of industrial waste water. One can evaporate emulsions, rinsing water from cleaning systems, die casting emulsions or rinsing water from finishing plants, powder coating and chemical plants. Starting from 100 m³ / year one can process such waster water streams feasibly. Vacuum distillation plants are produces by H2O GmbH process water engineering, located in Steinen, in the very south of Germany, close to the Suisse border and Basle. On the IFAT in Munich, May 5th to 9th, 2008, hall A2, stand 412, H2O presents the new VACUDEST® ClearCat® series as well as other smart ideas for clean water. |
